Opening hours
Special opening hours in November and December
In November and December there are special opening hours due to weather conditions:
- open daily for parties
- As of November 4th, when the weather is fine, the restaurant is open continuously as follows:
Monday: day off
Tuesday to Sunday: 9 am to 5 pm
Friday and Saturday: possibly also in the evening until 9 pm - In case of bad weather we close the restaurant.
We will be happy to give you information about the exact opening hours by phone. - From Saturday, December 20st 2025, we will be open again without any restrictions.
- Restaurant: open from 8 am.
From 11:30 am to 2 pm and from 6 pm to about 8 pm we serve from our large à la carte menu. In the afternoon we offer a small selection of cold and warm dishes. - Monday is our day of rest, except for a few exceptions.
If you are a hotel guest on Monday, we will serve a shortened breakfast from 8 am to 9 am. Our restaurant is closed for dinner on Mondays. You can also arrive on Monday by prior arrangement. - Exceptions: on holidays, between Christmas and New Year and during the winter sports vacations, the hotel and restaurant is also open on Mondays.
On Easter Monday and Whit Monday the restaurant is open until 5 pm.
On December 24th, the restaurant is closed from 5 pm. - In the off-season and on bad weather days we reserve the right to close the kitchen and the restaurant earlier.

Your way to the Hotel Restaurant Arvenbüel
At Arvenbüel we are close enough to civilization that even a short visit is worthwhile - and yet far enough away from the big hustle and bustle that you can find pure relaxation in the peace and quiet.
Arrival by public transport
The Arvenbüel is easily accessible by public transport. All suburban trains, express trains, intercity trains and most Eurocity trains from Zurich and Chur stop in Ziegelbrücke. There are even trains that go directly from Paris or Hamburg to Ziegelbrücke without passengers having to change trains even once!
From Ziegelbrücke station, bus no. 650 goes in the direction of Amden-Arvenbüel. Enjoy the fantastic scenery of the surrounding mountain ranges and the view of the Lake (Walensee) while you travel to the terminus “Arvenbüel-Arven”. The hotel is located directly at the bus terminus, next to the large parking lot. Further information about the bus service can be found at AWA-Bus.
Please note that the last bus from Arvenbüel leaves in the evening at 7:07 pm. At later hours, the bus only runs to and from Amden village.
Arrival by car or motorcycle
Coming from Zurich, take the A3 along the Zürichsee via Lachen, Reichenburg and the Glarnerland towards Chur. Coming from Chur or St. Gallen, the A3 leads in the direction of Zurich, past Sargans and Walenstadt and on along the Lake (Walensee).
Leave the motorway at the exit “Weesen Amden” and drive on the main road through the village of Weesen. From Weesen it is about 10 km to your destination. Follow the signs in the direction of Amden-Arvenbüel and continue on the beautiful, well-built mountain road up to Amden. After another 4 km you reach the village of Arvenbüel. You will find the Hotel Restaurant Arvenbüel just to the left of the large parking lot.
There are enough parking spaces on the parking lot and in the garage.
