Our family-run hotel offers 21 cosy rooms for a relaxing stay. The hotel rooms are located in the house next to the restaurant and therefore offer a lot of privacy and peace. And of course, the culinary delights should not be neglected: in addition to the rich breakfast buffet, we can also spoil you with fine menus in the evening.
Arvenbüel: a truly lovable oasis where sports enthusiasts, gourmets and those seeking relaxation all get their money's worth.
Which room would you like?
All guest rooms in our three-storey hotel have the following basic equipment:
- terrace (ground floor rooms) or large balcony (other rooms) with two chairs and a small table
- free WLAN
- two twin beds of 100 x 200 cm next to each other for a restful sleep
- private bathroom with shower, toilet, stool and hairdryer
- sitting area with LCD television
- table with two chairs
- hot water heater for early risers and all those who like to prepare a coffee or tea in their room between meals
Double room facing south – 42 m² with balcony and panoramic view
Twelve large double or twin rooms face south. The south-facing rooms are each 42 square metres in size and offer plenty of space. The seating area consists of a sofa, two single armchairs and an LCD television. Here you can comfortably read a book or watch your favourite programme. The pull-out sofa can be converted into an additional double bed, so that children can spend the night in the parents' room and larger groups can also find room in the Arvenbüel.
The view from the balcony or terrace of the mountain panorama of the Glarus and St. Gallen Alps is indescribable!
Double room facing west – 30 m² with balcony and panoramic view
Three further double rooms face west (one per floor). These rooms are smaller than the south-facing rooms at 30 square metres. The seating area consists of a sofa, an armchair and an LCD TV. The pull-out sofa can be converted into an additional single bed.
The view of the impressive Mattstock from the balcony will certainly remain in your memory for a long time.
Family rooms – for small and large families
Of course, we also have the perfect overnight accommodation for families: on each floor there is a family room with a common entrance area with table, chair and wardrobe and two separate rooms:
- The parents' bedroom on the west side is equipped with two twin beds, a seating area with two armchairs and LCD TV, a bathroom and a balcony or terrace.
- The children's room faces south and also has one or two twin beds, a seating area with TV and its own bathroom.
Warming a baby bottle in the middle of the night or enjoying a coffee or tea in the afternoon; no problem, you can do that in the room.
The children can enjoy themselves in the playroom and – during the snow-free period – on the large children's playground.
The two rooms of the family rooms can be booked separately without any problem, as they are completely independent of each other.

Room rates vary according to room type and season.
Prices per night include a rich breakfast buffet:

From three nights, the pampering half-board is available with a daily changing menu in four courses. Price per person and day: CHF 47.00.

- We appreciate payment of your bill in cash.
- Amounts under CHF 20.00 must always be paid in cash.
- Postcard and Maestro /EC-Direkt are also welcome means of payment for amounts of CHF 20.00 or more.
- Visa and Mastercard credit cards are accepted for amounts of CHF 50.00 or more.
- Payment by credit card is not possible for banquets.

Parking place
The hotel garage is available to our guests for CHF 6.00 per night.
Dogs in the hotel
Please note that dogs are not allowed in the hotel rooms for hygienic reasons and out of consideration for other guests. Well-behaved dogs are welcome in our restaurant.
The Arvenbüel can also be reached quickly and easily from central Switzerland by car or public transport right to the front door. The rooms are large, comfortable upholstered chairs invite you to linger and coffee or tea can be prepared in the room itself. Thanks to the south-facing windows, the room is bright and the balcony is sunny yet sheltered.
The friendly, benevolent hospitality of the Rüedi family and the few but excellently prepared hiking trails through the impressive winter landscape always inspire us. And the most important thing: the peace is audible – you have time to listen.

Our fresh mountain air whets your appetite! We put our heart and soul into making sure that you start the day with a boost of energy and don't have to go to bed with a growling stomach.
Breakfast buffet – the perfect start to the day
After a quiet and restful night, the day welcomes you with a delicious breakfast from 8 am to 10:30 am (Mondays until 9 am). The five homemade breads are the highlight of the rich buffet. Various juices, cereals, yoghurt, fresh Bircher muesli and fruit salad are also available, as well as a meat platter, a variety of cheeses and home-smoked or home-pickled salmon.
Half-board – culinary pampering programme
On request we will spoil you in the evening for CHF 47.00 per person and day with a daily changing 4-course menu.
In our kitchen, HOUSE-MADE is written large. We use regional products wherever possible and produce everything from fresh ingredients. All pasta as well as the cold and hot sauces are homemade from scratch. The five different breads, rolls, cakes and tarts are made in our bakery department. All our varieties of ice creams are homemade as well. Our house speciality: the plum cake – we use a tonne of plums yearly!
Please note: the Arvenbüel restaurant is closed on Mondays, with a few exceptions. Half-board is therefore only available from Tuesday to Sunday. Detailed information on our opening hours.
Exceptions: On all public holidays, between Christmas and New Year and during the sports holidays, the restaurant is also open on Mondays. On December 24th, the restaurant is closed from 5 pm.
Activities in and around the house
The facilities in the house include a small sauna with an ice-cold spring water shower. The sauna is heated especially for you and is privately reserved.
Play a game of pool with your companions for a drink or dinner.
The hotel is situated in the midst of beautiful nature with countless possibilities for sporting activities, leisurely walks and excursions. In winter, the ski slope leads directly to the hotel. Let yourself be inspired by our suggestions for activities in summer and winter.
We have been coming to the Arvenbüel with our two children (9 and 13) for skiing holidays for 9 years. For us, it is the perfect hotel: the rooms are large and clean, the view of the mountains from the balcony is enchanting, the food is delicious, the atmosphere is familiar and relaxed, the ski school and the slopes are right in front of the house.
We feel like guests, but somehow also like at home. The Arven-büel and the “Ammler” mountains are a pleasant cure against overstimulation and too much programme. Here, the people, nature and sport are the programme, and that has quality. Our son is now 13 years old, and like every year we had to promise him that we would come back to the Arvenbüel again next year.
