We employ around 20 full- and part-time staff. Our employees are our most important asset and we maintain a family-like working relationship with them. Respectful, friendly interaction is just as important as appreciation of the work performed. The praising words and good evaluations of our guests are to a large extent due to our esteemed team.

Markus Gerber – helper in need and all-rounder, since 2014

I am the “servant” and belong to the family! You can use me for everything, except for serving: I repair everything that doesn't work anymore, I'm the grill master at the Biker Büel and I'm the assistant son-in-law; Barbara's life partner.

I have already worked at Arvenbüel from 1987 to 1993. I came back in April 2014 because the economic situation in Portugal is very difficult. I am grateful that I got a job here again. I am responsible for the cold kitchen and I also like to bake bread.

Immediately after moving to the beautiful town of Amden, I found a job at the Hotel Restaurant Arvenbüel. I feel comfortable here and there is a very good working atmosphere. I like it when things get really busy. Then I'm in my element.

I spontaneously joined the Arvenbüel in the fall as an additional service assistant. I am now always there during the main season. I actually live in Spain. Already on the first day I was overwhelmed by the beautiful nature up here. I love the mountains and the green meadows.

From the very beginning I felt very comfortable at Arvenbüel and that's how I feel now that I'm back. I really appreciate the whole Arvenbüel team, the family atmosphere, which is especially transmitted to our guests. I am happy to contribute to the well-being of our guests.

Lina Moreira – housekeeper, since 2020

I was already here at Arvenbüel with my husband from 1987 to 1993. The last years I took care of the family in Portugal. Now our children are grown up and go their own way. Now I am happy to be back here with my husband and at Arvenbüel.

Manuela Gmür – with us since 1994, always steps in when there's a fire

The Arvenbüel is my second family. I completed my apprenticeship as a chef at Arvenbüel with flying colors from 1994 to 1997. A few years later we celebrated our wedding at Arvenbüel. And whenever there's a fire, I like to come and help. There was hardly a New Year's Eve without me, and I was always at the start of the game buffets and Metzgete. Autumn sunny days with high fog - I'm there! Filling in for the boss, so that he too can take a day off - I'm there! The most important day of the year is the staff outing - not without me!

Doris Giger-Grünenfelder – since 2012 as a temp at the buffet

I work 80 % off-site and love the variety here at Arvenbüel. Many weekends I help out. At almost all events I am also there to work. It is simply fun!

Since May2022 I work part-time at Arvenbüel. The varied activities of the kitchen as well as the topping of the burgers at the Biker Büel with the grill master Kusi give me a lot of pleasure and fun at work.

During my summer vacation, I always visit my parents Lina and Casimiro in Amden and I'm happy to also be able to help out at Arvenbüel and earn a little money.

I'm happy every year when I visit my parents at Arvenbüel during the summer vacations together with my brother Miguel. I think it's great that I can help my mother Lina in the rooms and the laundry and earn a little money at the same time. I like being here very much and feel very comfortable in this large gastronomic family.
